Decorpisme

A socio-cultural and philosophical practice rooted in the aspiration toward bodily neutrality, Decorpisme refers to the intentional removal, modification, or symbolic erasure of traditionally gendered bodily features—particularly reproductive organs and secondary sex characteristics such as breasts—as part of a broader pursuit of a non-binary physical ideal. Practitioners, often referred to as decorpists, engage in bodily transformation or conceptual reframing to resist binary gender inscriptions on the body.

Central to the discourse of decorpisme are neologisms such as ielsticles and ielgine, which metaphorically or literally denote neutralised forms of male and female reproductive anatomy, respectively. These terms challenge the linguistic and anatomical binarism embedded in traditional understandings of the body, and reflect a growing effort within certain non-binary movements to articulate embodied experiences outside the male/female dichotomy.

Though controversial, decorpisme functions as a radical gesture of self-determination, interrogating the assumption that gender must be biologically grounded and advocating for a body politics that aligns with post-binary identity formations.
Their decision to undergo chest nullification surgery was informed by a commitment to decorpisme, seeking to align their physical appearance with a neutral, post-gender embodiment.
