Evidence-Based Spirituality, also known as Scientific Spirituality, Evidence-Based Spiritualism and Scientific Spiritualism, is a form of spirituality that seeks the development of a scientific approach on spirituality and the search for spiritual evidences for spirituality, it opposes the notion that evidences are only highly stringent, repeatable, double-blind, peer reviewed, materialism-compatible research, for all phenomena and it believes in "Different Methods for Different Domains" and in Epistemological Pluralism in order to study spiritual phenomena like Near-Death Experiences, Astral Projection, Mediumship, Out-of-body experiences, Spiritual phenomena, Spiritual experiences, spiritual healing, spirits, souls, consciousness, afterlife, extraphysics, extraphysical life, spiritual worlds, other dimensions and so on. Evidence-Based Spirituality also opposes the notions of scientism and neopositivism and it often uses the notions of extraphysicalism, extramaterialism, extranaturalism and spiritualicism for its studies and the separation of spiritual sciences from natural sciences where natural sciences cannot determine spiritual things and it's a thing that only spiritual sciences can actually determine.
"The notion of evidence-based spirituality might be really good in order to counter the material reductionism and the neopositivism inside the spiritual community and scientific community and the development of spiritual sciences and even lead into new discoveries related to spirituality and everything related to it."

Get the Evidence-Based Spirituality mug.The Hard Problem of Spirituality and Metaphysics concerns the difficulty of explaining subjective spiritual experiences, metaphysical meaning, and existential significance using objective, physical descriptions. Similar to the hard problem of consciousness, it asks why inner experiences of transcendence, purpose, or “the sacred” exist at all, and whether they correspond to real structures beyond the physical world. The problem challenges reductionist explanations, suggesting that spiritual phenomena may involve extraphysical dimensions, emergent metaphysical properties, or irreducible aspects of reality that resist empirical measurement.
Hard Problem of Spirituality and Metaphysics — Example
Two individuals undergo near-identical neurological states, yet one experiences a profound sense of transcendence while the other does not. No physical measurement explains the difference. The hard problem arises in explaining why spiritual meaning emerges subjectively and whether such experiences correspond to real metaphysical structures rather than being purely neurological artifacts.

Get the Hard Problem of Spirituality and Metaphysics mug.The problem of infinite subjectivity. Spirituality emphasizes personal, direct experience of the sacred, bypassing dogma. The hard problem is that without any shared framework, criteria, or authority, every subjective feeling, dream, or intuition becomes self-validating. This leads to a marketplace of infinite, contradictory truths: one person's chakra alignment is another's demonic oppression. There is no way to distinguish profound connection from psychological projection, mental illness, or simple wishful thinking. Spirituality risks becoming a narcissistic pursuit where "what feels true to me" is the only standard, making meaningful community or discernment impossible.
Example: Two spiritual seekers meet. One says, "I channel the angel Michael who says we must live in harmony." The other says, "My ayahuasca journey revealed we must conquer our lower selves through strife." Who's right? There's no court of appeal beyond personal conviction. The hard problem: Spirituality seeks the ultimate Truth but dismantles all tools for verifying truth claims. It's like trying to map a continent where every explorer's subjective feeling becomes their own geography. You end up with a million private religions, each sovereign and unquestionable, rendering the concept of a shared spiritual reality meaningless. Hard Problem of Spirituality.
