Lethal leverage

The act of taking advantage of the grandparents' generousity for gain by the grandchildrens' parents by putting them on a pedistool.

The parents of the grandchildren want to buy a house even though they do not have sufficient funds. The parents get the grandparents to cosign for the home using the grandchildren as lethal leverage since an apartment is no place to raise a kid.

Leverage clause

Hey, trying to leverage my family to get me to do what you want is in violation of the leverage clause. There are going to be consequences the next time you do that.

I don't know. It's weird, right? I would have thought this would have gone differently... Hmm... 🤔 You know what? That's probably my fault. I think if I hadn't gone all rapey dictator on you, you wouldn't be as resistant to what's happening here. That's probably it. But not I feel bad because if I'm NOT are rapey dictator then all the resistance was for nothing! Huh... It's paradoxical a little bit, isn't it? But hey, stop trying to violate the leverage clause."

Pseudo “leverage”

A situation where one side at the negotiating table flaunts their so-called “leverage” without realizing that by showing their cards, they’ve pretty much given away all their power because they’ve become entirely predictable.

Me: Damn, dawg - I was playin’ against some invisible niggbo and it was freakey how them hits kept cummin’ outta nowhere - but once he lost his mask, all I could see is a weak, old dude puffing up his chest, trying to be scary ...
Dawg: Kay, so small fries after that, right? Buncha pseudo “leverage”?
Me: Aye, piece of cake. Dickbo didn’t realize he didn’t have shit one me 🤣

Relationship leverage

Relationship leverage describes the balance of power between partners. It’s about the dominant role in relationships. The one who has the last word most of the time. This balance can shift for a number of reasons. Illness, or unemployment for example can change the balance of power between partners.

“She’s so hot, she has relationship leverage.”

“He has relationship leverage, he’s dominant and controlling.”
