It's the ultimate non committal word but depending who and how reads it gives the option of interpretation. Gives the comfort blanket and the get out clause in one pass it's a combination of love and like simple as that

A fantastic person, as soon as "Loke" looks you in the eye you fall in love. You will never meet someone as great, his amazing smile and personality can light up any gray day. You can count yourself a very lucky person to know a "Loke", and extra lucky if he likes you too.

Many mistake him for the God Of Mischief, but he is the God of Experiences. "Living in the moment" is his motto and, as such, he is unafraid of trying new things. Loke has done all of the stereotypical jobs you can possible think of, however becoming a professional baker is unadvised as his pizza decorating skills are average. Great at bouldering, up-and-coming photographer and guaranteed salsa expert.
Great music taste, attentive, funny, charismatic, patient, respectful and charming -- Anyone would be LOKE lucky to have him in their lives (pun intended). To befriend Loke, offer him massages and maybe some funky socks. But, above all, remember: Don't mess with his brown cheese.

Who is truly international but is 100% Norwegian? Who uses balloon and clown emojis but doesn't refer to the movie IT? Who makes the most incredible Eggs with Norwegian salmon?

Between like and love, there is loke.
We might love someone but because it's such a powerful word we just say we 'like' them. Instead use the intermediary word loke.

"To be honest, I really loke you."
