This phrase is often used in the Gundam Anime series. A typical grunt will point out the window of his mech and say "Oh no it's a gundam!" and then shortly blow up as a result.

This phrase indicates the massive power of a "Gundam".

Mobile Suit Gundam

In the year Universial Century 0079, humanity lives in space colonies called Sides. Side 3, the Principality of Zeon, has declared war on the Earth Federation. After the intial fighting, an 8-month stalemate occured. However that stalemate breaks when Amuro Ray stumbles into the Gundam, the Earth Federation's secret weapon. Now Amuro and the crew of White Base must stand up to Zeon in order to end the war.

Mobile Suit Gundam aired in the U.S. on Toonami in 2001. There are a total of 43 episodes.

Gundam 00

The Gundam anime series following the Gundam Seed Destiny Series.

Instead of emulating The Original Gundam series and Z Gundam series which Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny have done, this one emulates Gundam Wing - because kids seeing it at this point are too young to remember a series that ended in 1996, that giving UC fanboys more reasons to rant.

Giant Robots used to fight wars and most of us are amused by it because there are alot of explosions, lasers and violence. They have a huge toy line and plastic models that break easy when you played with them when you were like 10. Good examples of the show are Mobile Suit Gundam,Gundam Wing, G Gundam and Gundam Seed. Originates from Japan. Usually the characters in the show have some cool names like Kai, Heero, Duo, or strange ones like Chibodee Crockett
