In documentary “World War II: From the Frontlines,” a WWII British army veteran says that soldiers referred to the desert in the African theater of war (or theatre of war if you prefer) as “miles and miles of sweet F-A,” likely shedding new light on the meaning of the term, along with the term BFA (“Bum Fucked Africa”), for many viewers. I’m stranded in the middle of BFE. No one is driving out here to the ass-end of nowhere to get me, not even Uber.
