Tranny

Coined in approx. 1960s-1970s, “Tranny” is a slur referring to a Transgender person.

Within the Trans community, some have reappropriated the term; whereas, some see it as defamatory to the community.

Similarly to “fag” and “dyke”, “tranny” is a LGBTQIA+ slur that has been reclaimed by some in the community.
