Get the Hypemug. When media has exciting action and characters with aura, but the actual writing is ok at best. Most commonly used to describe certain anime.
Person 1: "Is this anime any good? I'm thinking of getting into it."
Person 2: "It's pretty much just hype moments and aura, don't expect any complex writing."

A slang term used to describe the phenomenon of people building up excitement for a form of entertainment media, purely over nonexistent information and rumors that are taken as true statements. Often leading to disappointed and angry fans when the aforementioned rumors are proven to be false.
Friend: “ did you hear Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire Spider-Man is going to be a Deadpool 3!?”
Friend 2: “no I didn’t, I think that’s just a bunch of ghost hype.”

Get the Ghost hypemug. An effect which occurs when one is anticipating an upcoming game. The need becomes so great that other games become dull and boring in comparison. In more serious cases it can affect the viewing of television programmes, making them seem less interesting as well. In the most severe cases it can affect the viewing of pornography in the same way.
The hype effect is kicking in. Nothing is fun anymore. Not Netflix, not even Pokémon. I can't go on like this.
