An Australian event held on beaches, including Cottesloe, WA, where disabled people are only allowed access two days out of fourteen.

Ensuring that the beach matting is only laid out on those days prevents 'visual disruption', according to the organisers, and has other tangible benefits including minimal environmental disruption because it is only open to cripples on weekdays.

Next year the organisation plans to further develop their commitment to exclusivity by targeting and discriminating against other minority groups who may be visually disruptive due to their skin colour, flamboyance or utterly unacceptable forms of clothing that may reflect a person's culture.

In 2019, Sculptures will introduce the 'Sculptures ban the Sarong' campaign so that beachgoers and artists will be less distracted by potentially visually disruptive beachwear.

'Sculptures by the Selective will maintain our commitment to exclusivity by only providing access to white cishet men with suits and post-nominals.'

'We hold our commitment to ableism close to our hearts. In a perfect world, someone would make sure marginalised populations were excluded even more, but we've only been able to manage twelve days.'

The quality of still being able to manage oneself with something one wishes to indulge in while this one thing is not readily available year round. One does not buy all the girl scout cookies one can. Instead one remains prudent and only buys what one will enjoy and in a timely manner. This can also simply be called self-discipline, but these cookies are a real test.

Despite having the desire to buy many different types and boxes so that she could ravenously devour them to the point of shame. Brenda employed her girl scout cookie selectivity and bought one box of four different types so that she may enjoy two cookies per day for a few months.

Community Natural Selection Theory

The application of Darwin's core principles—variation, heredity, and differential survival—explicitly to communities as super-organisms. It argues that environmental pressures (climate, war, economic competition) naturally select for communities with the most adaptive bundles of institutions, technologies, and social norms. Communities that fail to adapt disintegrate or are absorbed. This frames history as the natural selection of social organisms.

Community Natural Selection Theory Example: Ancient Mesopotamian city-states that developed writing and codified law (adaptive traits) outcompeted and absorbed neighboring tribal societies that relied on oral tradition. Their social "organism" was more fit for complex administration and trade. This Community Natural Selection led to the dominance of a new, more complex community form.

Theory of Selectable Paradigms

The idea that during a period of crisis, multiple competing paradigms emerge as viable alternatives to replace the broken old one. They are "selectable" in that they offer coherent, but fundamentally incompatible, new rulebooks. The theory examines the menu of options available before a new orthodoxy crystallizes.

Theory of Paradigm Selection

The study of the messy, often non-rational process by which one paradigm wins over its rivals. Kuhn argued this isn't a simple logic puzzle; it involves persuasion, generational change, aesthetic preference ("elegance"), problem-solving promise, and the death of old-guard professors. Truth doesn't automatically win; the winning paradigm defines what counts as truth for the next era.

Theory of Paradigm Selection Example: Plate tectonics didn't win the paradigm war in geology just because it had better data. It won through paradigm selection: young geographers were dazzled by its elegant maps, it solved puzzles across sub-fields (seismology, paleontology), and, crucially, its elderly opponents in the "fixed continent" paradigm eventually retired. The social process of science selected the new reality.
