When a friend agrees to wingman or accompany to an event, a hangout, or a request.

Elizabeth: Sarah always pulls through.

Elizabeth wanted to do something over break instead of boring herself at home. When others didn't want to go, Sarah pulled through when she agreed to go.

to go through the motions - to make a feeble effort to do something; to do something insincerely or in cursory fashion; to do something because you are expected to do it and not because you want to; to do something without believing it is important
Jane isn't doing her best. She's just going through the motions.

Tough Love

Another version of "being cruel to be kind". To show somebody some tough love today will save them heartache in the future but may cause a small amount of upset for the reciever immediately after the "Tough Love" has been dispensed. They would suffer more if you let them get on with their life with no interference from third parties.
Leo-"I'm gonna ask that girl out on a date"
Chris-"You'd be wasting your time, you are ugly, overweight and suffer severely from B.O. and thats just your good points, take it from me, she will reject you, maybe not straight away, perhaps she will rinse your bank account first, but you have no future with that girl, I'm sorry mate the writing is on the wall"
Leo-"Harsh words, but priceless advice, I guess thats what they call tough love"
Chris-"It sure is, look it up on the Urban dictionary, on second thoughts, you better not"

Thought Crime

A theoretical felony. The federally punishable act of thinking about unlawful acts, thinking of committing them, or having thoughts contrary to the will of the established government or relevant legal or social paradigm. An arrestable offense regardless of whether or not action has been taken towards the thought, even lacking traditional evidence of any kind of wrongdoing.

This idea is prevalent in the dystopian novel "1984," by british author George Orwell.
I'm glad Bush is out of office. I was sure I was going to get sent to Guantanomo for Thought Crimes.
