Get the emo dickmug. Not to be confused with “Neo-Emo” or “Neo-Goth” (They are still similar in their own ways.)
A Novus-Emo / Novus-Goth is a person who IS emo, but dresses half the part (For example: Black eyeliner under the eyes, but not all black). Most notably Gen-Z children (Age Range that are defined of this 14-18 to when it starts but not limited to).
Clothing That Is Commonly Sported With This Look: Jeans (Mostly Regular; but also can be ripped), Black, Or Not Terribly Bright Hoodie, Black, Or Dark Brown Eyeliner (Not all of the eye just a little smudge under it), And shirt doesn’t matter, but if they are without it Black band merch or a regular white t-shirt, and Regular tennis shoes or converse.
They Would Most Likely Listen To These Bands: Hawthorne Heights, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, Slipknot, Korn, The Used, Coheed And Cambria, Saosin, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, And Trust Company.

Get the Novus-Emo / Gothmug. Emo is a subculture that enveloped around a musical style known as Emo that is derivative off both the 80's punk and teen angst mentality of the Punk Rock/Metal musical scene and the 90's Gothic Rock/Hardcore, and is more ever some thing leached on to by the 21st century teenagers who, seeking to ether be cool or vent frustrations and express their own pseudo-Originality developed what you see as Emo, musically much like the other two, culturally taking the rebel Teen Angst from Punk and the hatred for self and others from the Goth underground, it is now what you see today, a mess of culturally cliché stereotypes in a deprived time in cultural modern history.
Emotionally Angst Teen is told NO, Teen, because his mother wouldn't attentional to her son's emotional problems or father doesn't see why his son won't play sport like kids of his age, Becomes Depressed and create emotional poetry, Emo shares poetry, Others feel sorry, and thus promote this.

Emo is not one thing, it is actually multiple things, and either can make you Emo;
Emo is a style, wearing dark clothes usually black, black painted nails/hair, and the hair can be shaggy and swooped across the face usually long. Emo can also be a mentality, someone who is in tune with their own emotions, they understand themselves, self harm too but we dont talk about that. One more thing that could make you emo is music taste, for instance, all types of rock and metal genres fit into emo. Some artists that would fit the emo genre would be: Joel Faviere, Get Scared, Black Veil Brides, and so on.
You dont need to fit all the criteria to be Emo, just one is fine, And if you fit some of it and dont want to be called Emo, then thats alright, you do you.
