I don't know about the rest of the world. What you do is what you do. But on this day, We in England burn straw effigies of a terrorist who tried to blow up our parliament but sadly (or happily, depending on how you wanna look at it) failed miserably, was caught, and died to get out of being hung drawn and quartered. We burn such a scarecrow on an outdoor furnace that does wonders to speed up global warming.

Remember, remember, the fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot
I know of no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

A dutch holiday named sint maarten
Basically just halloween with homemade lanterns for kids under 12 without costumes and instead of saying "trick or treat" they sing a song about two walking tomatoes

November 11th
Kids: *knocks on stranger's door*
Adult: *opens door* oh! Those lanterns are so pretty! Did you make them yourself?
Kids: *ignore the adult and start singing*
Adult: that was beautiful! I never heard that song before! *shows a bowl of candy* grab any!
Kids: *grab a piece of candy, stuffs it in backpack, walks away*
