Well, it was our first dinner together, but we won't call it a date just yet. But it was more than hanging out. I guess it was a date-out.

ex 1) Jacob asked me on a date, but I'm going to be a total date dodger and tell him that my grandma died.

Date Buffer

A date buffer is a friend that you bring along when you hang out with someone that you're romantically interested in. The purpose of this is to make the excursion seem as if it wasn't a date, but more of a friendly gathering. In most cases though, the 'buffer' is ignored as a third wheel.

However, if you're NOT interested in the person, a date buffer can be used so that you don't send the wrong message.

1) "Dude, I wanna go out with that chick again, but I'm a wuss and I don't wanna go alone. Could you be by date buffer?"

2) "That guy's cool and all, but I don't really like him like that. Just be my date buffer today and I'll pay for your ticket."

when you are desperate for a relationship your mind just screams "date me pls" at everyone that looks you in the eye (and then some that don't).

play date

A play date or playdate is an arranged appointment ostensibly for children to get together for a few hours to play.

However, the underlying reason is keep the kids busy so that parents can score some action with each other.

While I was at the playground with my son, I scheduled a play date with that hot milf.

So while the kids were downstairs watching Sponge Bob, I was upstairs helping Mommy get some needed stress release!
