Originates from WW2 when Nazis would tie primarily homosexuals together like faggots of wood (a bundle of usually fire wood) one would be shot and the two or three people would be pushed off a bridge into a stream or river, the dead body would sink bringing the others down with them. This was done to save bullets.

This word often referred to as a male who has sexual relationships with another male or A word just used to call someone ignorant or stupid of a topic being discussed. However, the word comes from history. Back in the day where witches were burnt at the stake, such as salem, MA. When witches were burnt at the stake they had to be burnt by not only a match but also keeping it lit by using kindling. Kindling is also a term many ppl refer to as a bundle of sticks, or the word faggot. History tells that not only were witches burnt at the stake but that they were started and kept burning by another soul which in that day and age was UNHOLY, homosexuality. Those person or persons that described themselves as homosexuals were used as kindling for the fires for the witches being burnt at the stake.

Holy shit...u mean to tell me that not only did they burn witches for no apparent reason...but they also started those fires by using faggots??

A faggot is a person who may or may not be gay, but chooses to act EXTREMELY homosexual for the intent of annoying others. They usually try to do stuff like acting EXTREMELY touchy in the locker rooms, making a lot of homosexual gestures around others. or pretending to flirt with other men just to annoy the hell out of them.

*NOTE: The term "Faggot" only applies to men. Women who do this are usually just called sluts or other insults.
