A reaction in which a substituent group or element attached via sigma bond to a hydrocarbon, commonly an alkane, is eliminated to form a pi bond to a carbon adjacent to the carbon the substituent group or element was originally lost from.

Yo, I was makin out with this girl Aisha at a party earlier but Larry, this dude who was one of her friends, wouldn't fuckin leave the room. Some cops came and larry tried to bolt cuz he was holdin.
