It means Grace City, Creative City, Holy New City, an ideal city on earth, the ideal city in the heaven and Utopia. It's also the name of Chiang Mai, the largest city in northern Thailand in an important Buddhist local literature in Pali, the religious language of Hinayana Buddhism.
