Pittsfield

Pittsfield is the western-most city in Massachusetts, the seat of Berkshire county. A once booming city it has seen an economic downturn since GE left. The Appalachian Trail goes through Berkshire county so there are plenty of great hiking spots, etc. Home to a lot of hippies, ravers, and hipsters, there is quite the counterculture scene in Pittsfield. There is unfortunately a lot of violent crime coming from the bloods, "YRD" or "RD" gang, etc. There is also a big heroin problem in Pittsfield. Education-wise you have BCC, Berkshire Community College, an excellent community college. You also have the for-profit Mildred Elley.
