A blanket term used to childishly insult anyone who even slightly defends any aspect of socialism the accuser doesn't like.

Formerly used to refer only to supporters of Joseph Stalin, it has been infinitely expanded.

Samantha: I think we should have Medicare for All.
Jack: I think we should nationalize the banks and all fortune 500 companies.
Samantha: No Jack! We still need capitalism! Stop being such a tankie.
Conservative Joe: Those are both socialism, you damn tankies.
