Political cockroach

Someone in politics who is weak yet somehow manages to be really difficult to get rid of. They have no loyalties or convictions and will change sides at the drop of a hat. As soon as the winds of power shift, they suddenly find themselves on the other side. They often leverage their position to parasitically leach off higher powers, usually for massive amounts of money.

Examples throughout history include:
-The Eastern Client Kings of the late Roman republic (Lydia, Thracia, Pontus, Cappadocia, etc.)
-The Boyars of 15th century Wallachia
-Qatar's government
Ariobarzanes III of Cappadocia is such a political cockroach.

Political compass

The political compass is a political defining square, with four quadrants, with a questionnaire to identify you. As the political spectrum was quite unreflective of a lot of factors, they added a y/social axis to the current x/economic axis. A great example of why this is better than the plain old spectrum is France’s National front. It is often dubbed as “the far right party of France”, however, a lot of its economic policies are further left than the socialist party, so, it would give a lot more context to its beliefs. Authoritarianism tends to believe in government control, while libertarianism tends to believe in less government. Economic left tends to believe in spending more money and being open to progression, while conservatism tends to believe in cutting spending, and taking a cautious approach to progression. This has resulted in left wingers believing in equality and conservatism believing in hierarchy.

Politically Inconvenient

These days, anything that approximates THE TRUTH, is fake news, anti-American, anarchistic or delusional.
COVID 19 hasn't miraculously disappeared, testing for COVID 19 doesn't increase case incidence, Hydroxychloroquine and the My Pillow guy do not have a PROVEN cure for COVID 19.
Tens of thousands of Americans have needlessly died from COVID 19 because of conspiracy theory bullshit, Q-fuckingAnon and executive branch indecisiveness and Trump-level corruption that exists right up until this very fucking moment.
So, who ya voting for?
Well, for me, Trump is Politically Inconvenient.
Yeah, me too.
