When two or more people trade degrading remarks in an attempt to discourage or frighten one another. The more common terminology is "shit talkin", though "fecal banter" has a more sophisticated ring to it.

While minding my own business in the Walmart checkout line, fecal banter erupted between two female porch dwellers.
