Mostly summer residents who live in southold are members of the yacht club, with the exception of a few all year residents. The summer residents who are members there are usually wealthy, high income people who want a sense of down to earth living somewhere. Each member owns atleast two sailboats and loves to race in regattas against other longisland yacht clubs. Even though the members of the yacht club are rich, they are nice people.
