basically someone who pretends to be something just because it's 'in' or 'trendy'. but it is NOT someone who changes their look every so often because the are experimenting and going through that thing called 'self discovery' or 'adolescence'. how to recognize a poseur/poser: if they call you or anybody else one. how to avoid it: just be yourself. don't fit into the stereotype of whatever.

loser poser

To be a poser who is also a loser. The combination of dressing or acting according to a store you shop i.e. hollister,DTL, pacsun.. but are not only failing miserably,and its noticable, but the whole town is laughing at you behind your back anyplace you go whether it be the mall,tropicana,wendys, or even the local barber shop.

Wears Thrasher, the 2 XL shirts and a hoodie for weeks on end without changing. Stands there with his board looking extra Radical for scene points but doesn't even try skate when he knows how to do nothing.

puts his face book status as "skating all day" I love skating" "gotta skate more" - but the only time they skate is just down the smooth road to the shop.

hip hop poser

Someone who claims to know a lot about rap and doesn't understand hip hop is a culture not just music. Someone who listens to the radio and only watches b.e.t. a bunch of lames who don't know shit about rap or the old school or underground but act like there hip hop genius . Most of the time posers will say they like a rapper but they've only heard 1 to a few songs courtesy of mtv and there local radio station, also they follow the latest trend in rap while a real hip hop head just dresses like a regular person. Ex: wearing skinny jeans.

High School Fashion Poser

It's like this; When you go to school and seeing someone where something that they CLEARLY should not even attempt, because you know that person, and that person would never wear that. That my friend, is when the fashion poser comes in effect. They all wear whatever is hip, or "the fab" at the time. Even if it was a part of another style's fashion, it doesn't matter to them. It's not cool until the "cool" kids copy another group's fashion.

Here's what a HIGH SCHOOL FASHION POSER IS=

1) Guy Harvey:
Oh Guy freaking Harvey. I hope you know half of the people who wear your shirts don't even fish... Or have any idea what tackle even is. To sum it all up. They all just pretend to fish. Props to the original kids/adults who actually DO FISH.

2) Skinny Jeans on GUYS
I know I was made fun of in middle school wearing them, because at the time only girls did. Well what now?! All of a sudden it's "cool" to wear them. Well considering that I wore it before it was cool and how it was okay for people to make fun of me back then. I'd say it's all the boys who were jealous of the Jonas Bros and Bieber.
