To "Shostak" is to ignore the task you've been paid to do. Named after famed SETI scientist Seth Shostak, who famously ignored the UFOs flying around the earth whilst being paid to look for signs of Alien life

A wise and hyper-articulate intellectual with refined knowledge and understanding of the world who spends most of his time chain smoking.
