Redemption Beard

When someone commits a wrong doing, goes in to hiding and then re-emerges months or even years later with a beard.

The beard is often said to have redemptive qualities and is a manifestation of alleged personal growth.

Did you hear Luke Skywalker came out of hiding a few days back? He’s got a wicked redemption beard, so I think he’s a better person now.

Redemption Shower

The shower one has after a night of heavy drinking (where you either did something really stupid or can't remember what you did). A redemption shower is the only way to cleanse you of the sins from the night before. After a redemption shower all is forgotten and you can start all over again.

Waking up with a hangover Ben realized he was naked and lying on his neighbor's front lawn. Quickly he ran home for a "redemption shower".

A place you go to for religion-based treatment and counseling to cure you of drinking beverages dat come in glass, aluminum, and plastic containers; this is both to get you to live more healthfully, and to reduce littering and other harmful effects on da environment dat guzzling canned/bottled alcohol or soft drinks causes.

Two weird and/or seemingly-hypocritical details of a redemption center:
(1) They often will let you pay your dues using bags of returnable containers dat you've collected, which of course are da very same resource-wasting vessels dat they are trying to cure you of purchasing your liquid libation in.
(2) They don't mention ceramic or wooden containers dat moonshine comes in, so this omission could sabotage your efforts to "keep da plug in da jug".

redemption disclosure

Confidential documentation of past transgressions for which one is contrite. This includes documentation of the evidence of your growth journey and restitution so concerned parties (like a company or board of directors) can be prepared in case you get called out for something that is actually old news and no longer a reflection of who you are today. It's an antidote for being called out for something you already served time for (literally or metaphorically) or that you have genuinely learned from. It's not guaranteed to prevent being cancelled, but it's better protection than being called out and pretending it never happened.

I submitted my redemption disclosure to my company today. I sure hope the people who saw me in blackface at that party in 1982 don't call me out.
