right-onism

1. Oppressive political correctness.
2. The tendency for activists to show excessive zeal in advocating their "righteous" causes, to the point of numbing their audience.

3. Jumping on the bandwagon of social movements in a lemming-like fashion.

There's been a relentless rise of right-onism since the '90s. Not to be confused with onanism, though functionally equivalent.
Man, I'm tired of being preached to by self-righteous vegans and environmentalists. They can take their right-onism and shove it.

After this Harvey Weinstein debacle, suddenly everyone's a feminist ! I'm sick of all this opportunistic right-onism.

Let the Right One In

Released on January 26, 2008 at Göteborg International Film Festival in Sweden and Oct 31 in the US(in select theaters).

A Swedish film based on the novel about a boy named Oskar who befriends a vampire named Eli. It's a gritty film about murdering to live, friendship, adolescence and love. Let the Right One In has much more depth than Twilight and takes away the banality of most vampire films. Director Tomas Alfredson is a genius and the cinematography is simple but beautiful. The film stars Kåre Hedebrant(oskar) and Lina Leandersson(Eli). It is both their first debut film. The movie is so critically acclaimed that it has 18 wins and 2 nominations. The director Edward Wright(Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) even put Let the Right One In as his number 1 film of 2008.
