Like a power chord, except you're missing out a string. They give a fuller sound than a power chord. They're commonly used by bands such as Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Falling In Reverse and Avenged Sevenfold

The attempt by singers to sing higher, lower and then higher again on a single note for dramatic effect in a song especially for the national anthem. Most singers try and fail miserably, but occassionally a few people pull it off. singing, sing, singer, octaves, music, national anthem, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, patriotic, America, USA, United States, Whitney Houston, the World Series, Super Bowl
Whoever just tried to sing the national anthem, should stop the octave rocking because you are not Whitney Houston. Just stop!
