Finswimming is a sport similar to swimming and diving. The difference between finswimming and regular swimming is finswimming use equipment such as fins, snorkle, or even oxygen tank, but its not diving either. For finswimming, there are two types of fins, a monofin and a bifins. Its has special events like apnea where you hold your breath and sprint for 50m in the race, there’s also a race named immersion which are done underwater (100m-400m) with oxygen tank. Finswimming is a race type of sport and is calculated based on speed like swimming. They are usually done in a pool, but there are open water finswimming too where the race are done in the ocean. Finswimming is under CMAS federation that stands for World Confederation of Underwater Activities. The sport is still not as well known, but it has international events like World Games, World Cup, etc but it is not yet an Olympic sport.
