Gender dysphoria is a mental state caused by being born in the wrong body. Transgender and Non-Binary people, as well as every other gender, can experience it. It causes anxiety, depression, and sometimes even suicide. (Despite what others might say, it’s very real and we’re glad you’ve listened to us for this!!)
“Zero looks really upset today,” Tommy said.
“Yeah, it must be their gender dysphoria,” Angela replied. “Their binder got stained so they’re waiting until it’s been washed.”
“Poor Zero, I wish I could do something to help them...”

A transgender person is using weaponized dysphoria when they accuse a cisgender person of making them feel dysphoric and ugly because he or she does not want to date them.
A transgender boyfriend telling his transgender girlfriend that she has no boobs and has the squarest jaw he's ever seen is an example of weaponized dysphoria because he is purposefully increasing her dysphoria to lessen his own.

Get the name dysphoria mug.An umbrella term for dysphoria caused by identity incongruence including gender dysphoria, species dysphoria (referring to what is experienced by Therians and Otherkin), and age dysphoria. Contrary to popular belief, identity dysphoria is not exclusive to people with identities that differ from what they were born as or physically are. In theory, anyone can have identity dysphoria if they experience identity incongruence. For instance, if a cis man has gynomastia, he may experience gender dysphoria. However, this is much more rare and the majority of people who experience gender dysphoria are transgender, intersex, and/or double-binary.
