In relation to something or someone that suddenly becomes overly popularised and gathers a huge following of people who don't know what they're talking about (usually due to the media). So named after

Spider-Man's Uncle Ben. Nobody cared who he was while he walked home in the streets, but the second he gets shot a crowd of people who are unimportant to him suddenly gather thinking they are helping when they're actually just in the way.

Corner Crowder

A "corner crowder" is one who stays in a corner during a party. They want to be alone but equally want to seem social, they are commonly mistaken with "wallflowers" and on occasion there are people who both flower a wall and crowd a corner. However wallflowers can group with other wallflowers but a corner crowd is completely alone in their time.

Partier One: "Yo! Where's Jeff? I heard he was here."
Party host: "yeah. He's a total corner crowder, I don't get why he even comes to these..."
Partier One: "yeah what a nerd."
