The word originates from the small aliens in Star Wars who roam the deserts in brown cloaks, stealing & scavenging, but has come to have multiple definitions:

1. (original) fictional alien species from Star Wars.

2. (slur) a derogatory word for a Muslim, someone of Arab descent, or people of the Middle East.
3. (pejorative) people who roam areas, scavenging scrap metal/garbage, and are often suspected of stealing materials.

2. Those damn Jawas blew up some sites again.
