Person 1: "I saw Sarah today, did you go to her babyshower?"
Person 2: "Sarah from high school? No we're Facebook formal, I saw pictures though."

Facebook

An advertisement platform, with social platform as second purpose, that tracks every single person everywhere and every shot they move.
To use Facebook without getting tracked every shot everywhere is to use alternative social networking platforms, an adblocker and Facebook container. It's still better than using nothing, at least.

Go back to Facebook

When there's a Karen (or a facebook mom) who is being really annoying on a different social media platform (e.g. twitter), and should just go back to Facebook. It's used when people are really annoying. It's basically a way of saying "Go back to where you came from", but more respectfully, and less racist.
Karen: "Stop doing something, do something else."
A great human being: "Go back to Facebook!"

(of people) Locking your keys in your own car, home, computer, etc
1. Fox News really pulled a Facebook by telling its viewers to not get vaccinated.

2. I had to call a locksmith today, because I pulled a Facebook. I was really embarrassed to have to explain I locked my keys in my own house.

Facebook

verb. To Facebook. When a company updates their DNS records to show they have no servers, thereby de-platforming themselves from the web. However, this is not enough to Facebook. Your own internal systems, including physical building security must be tied to your main public domain identity as well, meaning you can't simply send an update email, log in to any internal systems, open doors, send someone to reset the server, etc.
Did you hear TikTok is down right now?
No... did they Facebook?
Nah, they'll be up in a few minutes.

Facebook

If facebook is as harmful as some claim that it is, why would they wait 15 years after it started to make the claims? It's been the same company, same website with a few updates every now and then.
Facebook was never the healthiest way for someone to spend hours of their day, even back in 2008. So what is the point in waiting until 2021 to bring up what was obvious then. The reality is the user controls how much time they spend on Facebook, not Mark Zuckerburg or Facebook. If the user doesn't spend an unhealthy amount of time on facebook by using a little self control, then it's hard to see how facebook is inherently harmful. People once said the same thing about video games, and it works the same way, if the user spends hours of every day playing video games, of course they are creating health problems, both mental and physical. If the user has any self control, it's hard to see how video games are harming anybody.
