The phrase you use when shit is indeed happening. Primarily, bad shit is happening. In your life, at the present moment, anytime. You can use this in many ways to say you understand and “that sucks” at the same time. It also can be used in the same way the phrase “it is what it is” is used in.

Mark: “Hey Ben glad to see your leg is healing well after that car crash.”
