Ring of Decay

The ring of older suburbs around a city center that have fallen victim to blight and decay. "Ring" for short. Generally including run-down apartment complexes, empty strip centers, and malls that used to be hip, but are now in disrepair. Crime is normally rampant in the Ring.

The Ring differs from the "hood" or "ghetto" in that these terms usually refer to older, more established neighborhoods, usually closer in, but not necessarily.

In general terms, the Ring is always slowly moving in an outward direction as the center is gentrified and the suburbs age.

"Let's go to Sharpstown Mall." "Dude, no way, that's totally in the Ring." "The what?" "The Ring of Decay dude, what's wrong with you?"

decatur

City located a few miles east of Atlanta. Contrary to other definitions, Decatur is NOT mostly farmland but an urban environment featuring both housing projects and million-dollar condos. The first Waffle House is located in neighboring Avondale Estates and was founded by graduates of Decatur High School. In recent years, an influx of really fucking gay people has earned the city such titles as "dikeatur" and "Dickatur"

Decatur High School (Federal Way)

Decatur High School, is a middle class high school in Federal Way, Washington. Decatur High School is full of posers, wannabes, and bitches. You will meet some of the worst people here. Students at Decatur are under achievers and only come to school to skip classes. Most students you encounter are high, have recently been high or posess drugs. Decatur High School sports are a joke. It's like they are trying to lose. The sports program will never improve. If you wish to be a star athlete don't come here. Decatur High School, is an under achieving high school, and if you wish to have a good time in high school don't come here.
