It's possible to find a flake in most parts of the world, but an LA Flake is especially noteworthy for how long they engage in friendly conversation leading up to the activity, how predictably close to the activity they'll disappear completely, and how the number of confirmations or level of detail in the plans seem to make no difference.
In most cases, the last you'll hear from an LA Flake is the day before you're supposed to see them. Otherwise, you may get lucky and hear a rare burst of cluelessly insulting honesty along the lines of "Someone invited me to something more fun!" Most commonly, the LA Flake will see your messages and try to convince themselves "Well, we didn't *really* make plans…" Sometimes, they'll try to convince you, too.
