The GP-5 (also known as the SHM-62) is a Soviet gas mask produced from 1962 to 1990. The filters of this mask are known to have asbestos, so do not use them. Buy modern Russian filters or other new filters that can be used with GOST masks. The hood of the mask is made of latex. Later the later version, the SHM-62U, was made in a cheaper way by lessening the amount of rubber in each mask. They are very cheap online, with an average price of $10 to $20.

The GP-5 was produced in the millions, and can be found at almost any military surplus store.
