Dance floor imperialism manifests as an explicit expectation for everyone to participate, and non-dancers often find themselves succumbing to the relentless persuasion, inadvertently surrendering their autonomy on the dance floor.

A form of dance which requires no actual dancing but rather sitting. Typically associated with heavy drinking this style of artful expression has one simple rule. No Mexicans, Dutch or young mothers with the letter "M" in their names. Vehicular assault has been known to occur in excessive forms of this dance.

Ecstatic dance is a method of self soothing whose roots can be traced back to greek mythology. The idea is to lose yourself to the dance and modern interpretations of that tend to include a few rules. No shoes, no cell phone, no drugs, and no talking. The general music is often a mixture of world, house/trance musical styles, and the people are hippies. You can expect them to be wearing harem pants and have a good handle on energy and its properties.

Pole dancing originated in the deep forests of russia. This art form started when bears would chase men, children and woman up a tall tree. to pass the time one would start to dance. and thus pole dancing was born. russia still holds the world record for longest dance on a pole by the oldest woman still pole dancing, she is 54 years old.
