Particularly when they suggest impractical forms of resistance that they've never personally tried, tell the American to put themselves in physical danger, or wave away valid concerns. The concept is similar to the idea of mansplaining.
"Instead of saying you wish you could move to Canada because you're afraid that Trump's going to take your healthcare away and you're going to literally die, you should really be doing more to resist. You should run for office. And also go to more protests. And also participate in these 800 other forms of resistance I've never personally tried that might get you fired, arrested or killed. And just build a bridge for no reason. I've decided for some reason that you're not in any danger."

Someone that hates feeling used or lied to or to lose someone that means the world to them, in heart and mind, they may be stubborn and at times and well overprotective in order to keep people safe, may be easily annoyed at small things, but tends to tsk then to heart also easily angered and is never afriad to pick a fight, that stands up for herself, has no fear of speaking her mind and shows amazing abilities of leadership and knowledge. That gives great advice to others but has trouble fixing themselves but gives true loyalty to the people they trust.
