When a guy drops subtle hints that that he’s into you and then when you work up enough courage to ask him he turns out to be straight and all the effort you put in going down the drain all those built up feelings and no where to put them

Power Queer
The Power Queer is the newest need in television and film. This is a character that started becoming more common in the late 2010s when producers and writers started to realize it was no longer okay for gay male characters to either be "best friend" screaming queens with no real personality except for being gay with no love interest or they were stoic (humourless) with a whisper of a love interest who then dies or gets murdered. A Power Queer is a high-status queer character, usually gay, a fully developed character, self-possessed, and who functionally moves the story along - either a person in charge or a personality who has the power to move and/or change the plot. And "being gay" is not their only character trait. They can have campiness in their toolbox, but that is not what defines them. They are not the butt of jokes, and they don't need to die to be humanized

Thom Allison, a veteran actor who plays Sheyonce, the bar owner, opposite Alexandra Billings, in the feature film QUEEN TUT, says, "Being sought out for the role of Sheyonce is a testament to being in the business for a long time and the kind of characters I have played. My partner, Micah Barnes, and I call this category the ‘Power Queer’ ."

A queer person with so much style and confidence that they are swag. Not only that though it's just something about the person, they make being queer the very definition of swag.

(note that this should not exist but it still does bc corporate entities and pick me straight girls think so)
NOUN
The attention, praise, idolize/pedestalization, and all around buzz around queer identities.
This term is more commonly used by actual queer individuals in reference to someone pretending to be queer/identifying as heteroflexible, appropriating queer culture, or performatively supporting the LGBTQ+ community for attention. I is also used in reference to big brands/corporations using LGBTQ+ to sell or promote something.

"Megan's not actually bi, she's just looking for queer clout 🙄"
"She put heteroflexible in her bio LOL, so obvious she's just a queer clout chaser."
"Just because blank brand changed their logo to rainbow, doesn't mean queer clout's gonna do anything for them"
"Typically but not always, people who say they're "bicurious" are queer clout chasers."

A term for when a person is feeling pressured by others into experimenting or admitting they're gay or LGBTQ+ when they never considered it, or perhaps don't even want to be. Usually, towards people who fit a certain stereotype, or from people who become too invested in pride-related politics and forget other people's feelings.
Please don't queer pressure me; I appreciate that you guys will support and love me no matter what, but while this lifestyle may work for you it just isn't what I want for myself.
