Multicontextualism of the Humanities

A philosophical framework holding that the humanities must contend with irreducible multiplicity of contexts—that texts, events, and artifacts are shaped by overlapping contexts that cannot be reduced to a single frame. A literary work exists in the context of its author's life, its literary tradition, its historical moment, its language, its subsequent reception, its translation across cultures, its adaptation into other media. Multicontextualism insists that understanding requires mapping these multiple contexts and how they interact. It demands that humanists resist the temptation to find a single key that unlocks a text, instead embracing the complexity of multiple contextual frames that together constitute meaning.

Example: "His multicontextualism of the humanities meant he analyzed Shakespeare not just in Elizabethan England, but also in the context of early modern print culture, the history of theater, the development of English, and four centuries of global reception—all of which shaped what the plays have become."

Multiperspectivism of the Humanities

A philosophical framework holding that the humanities require multiple, irreducible perspectives—that texts, histories, and artifacts sustain a plurality of valid interpretations that cannot be reduced to a single account. Multiperspectivism goes beyond perspectivism by insisting that multiple perspectives are not just inevitable but essential to humanistic understanding. A great novel means different things to different readers across time and culture; a historical event looks different from the perspective of victors and vanquished; a painting speaks differently to different traditions of criticism. Multiperspectivism demands that humanists cultivate the capacity to see through many eyes, to hold multiple interpretations in tension, and to recognize that the richness of human meaning exceeds any single frame.

Example: "Her multiperspectivism of the humanities meant she could read the same poem through biographical criticism, formalist analysis, Marxist theory, and queer theory—not because she didn't know which was right, but because each revealed something the others missed, and together they approached the poem's fullness."

When someone is useless to a degree that the air they breathe is considered to be going to waste

It’s an exaggerated insult meant as sarcasm for someone or group of people screwing something up which is extremely simple and in million years you don’t expect anyone to screw it so using this phrase you are questioning them consuming the air in the atmosphere

He was asked to bring a cake to the party and he showed up with a 5 cupcakes, it is such a waste of human breath

She literally burnt eggs while boiling them, she is a waste of human breath
