Tea Dance

A, typically Sunday, afternoon dance comprised of gay and queer people. Tea Dances began in the 1950's when same sex dancing was illegal and blossomed in the latr-60's throughout the 1970's. Tea Dances would often serve 'low-tea', Hors d'oeuvres and drinks (including liquor and beer), and create a cruising atmosphere for attendees to connect with one another.
