Holler

Holler-A southern slang term for Hollow. Any natural area with distinguishable features from the surrounding natural area. Almost any place can be a holler to a southern person. You can go up to the Holler, down in the holler, out back in the Holler, over to the Holler, out in yonder Holler. A Holler could be anything from strip of land in between a couple rows of pine trees to an entire valley with a city in it, in which case it would have used to have been Holler. Every small region in the South has at least one Holler and everybody knows where it is. You better find out where that Holler is if you are new in town!
