Piggybacking

A human-based social engineering technique, it is when the attacker/bad actor tags along with another person who is authorized to gain entry into a restricted area or pass a certain checkpoint

Bad Actor: Approaches the entrance of a restricted building with their arms full, pretending to be an employee. Victim: Swipes their access card to enter the building. Bad Actor: Quickly shows their fake access card to the Victim and asks them to hold the door.

Victim: Unaware of the Bad Actor’s true intentions, holds the door for them. Bad Actor: Gains unauthorized access to the building.

Bad Actor :*He doesn't know I'm using a social engineering technique called Piggybacking, hehe.

Piggybacking

The act of reusing another person’s “joke” or “saying” over and over again on random occasions to the same group of peers. Believing you’re as funny/witty as the OG composer. Thus forcing a counterfeit laugh amongst the group.

“Man that punchline Mike said the other day was hilarious.”
“ It totally was, now AHYO and Sison say it everyday for the most random shit.”
“Fo Reals, they’re totes piggybacking off it!”
