A Generally All around good store.
Many people judge the girls and guys who wear it thinking they are imature, popular bitches.
This is NOT ALWAYS the case. I shop there sometimes when there are sales, and occasionaly treat my slef to a high quality, cute button up shirt or polo. But I don't waste my money on a plain tank I can get at Target.
I do agree it is annoying to see 5 girls wearing the same shirt as you though.
I don't like labeling, and it's a cute store. It's not way over priced like Abercrombie or it's brother, Fitch.
I'm just saying it's judged to much, because populars make fools of them selfves, and anyone who wears it.
If you like it, good for you! If you don't, what's it to you? you arn't wearing it...

Get the american eagle outfitters mug.The first Urban Outfitters came from Berkley, CA. It's a clothing store found in urban areas. The clothes range from vintage, hippy, emo, indie, or just strange. Awkward place to shop at if you're overweight or a straight male. Clothes can be insanely priced. Store also contains home products or furnishing that you would most likely find in a college dorm room.

Example of furnishings found here: "Beer Refrigerator."

Get the urban outfitters mug.A slightly overpriced store found primarily in urban areas of North America. The company targets a college-aged audience, but attracts younger and older consumers just as well. While many of the brands they carry are overpriced (Diesel, Lacoste, True Religion, etc.), buyers trust them to be of excellent quality. Most Urban Oufitters shoppers are not looking so much as to fit a mold or put on a 'hipster' persona, but just want to buy good, fashionable clothing. Some think that Urban Outfitterers are trying to stand out as "individuals", but you could say the same about anyone who shops at American Eagle, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hollister, Hot Topic, and all the rest - except, unlike Urban Outfitters shoppers, those who shop at the more common stores REALLY want to look like clones (and are still paying for overpriced goods).
Hey, since we're here, why don't we go to Urban Outfitters? I'm sure we can find something that will make us look cool in a young, fashion-aware kinda way. Hopefully no body will perceive us as spoiled rich kids who want to be perceived as individuals even though we've never even had jobs.

Get the urban outfitters mug.A store that tries to mass produce the "thrift store vintage look." My question is what's cool about buying mass produced "poser" vintage? People who started the thrift store movement did it to make a statement against "brands" in general, and corporate America. Urban Outfitters is a publicly traded company on the stock market and all they care about are their sales, and keeping investors happy. A far cry from being "indie" or "underground." I would much rather support a local thrift store then, try to obtain that stolen, exploited look from these guys.
That's a cool tye dye shirt, did you make it? No, I bought it for $112 at Urban Outfitters. It's a good thing I own stock in the company, they know how to exploit the youth, and making them believe they are indie, and underground.

3) Things that used to be stupid, unpopular, childish, uncool, dorky, lame, underground or otherwise socially awkward that are now marketed as mainstream hipster, "cool" or indie- usually to the teenage audience (in a socially positive light).
