Hollister is a cool store, but it rather kills your senses:
HEARING-Loud Blaring music
SMELLING-An entire store doused with fragrances coming through the airvents
SEEING-Dark, batcave like
Although taste and hearing remain intact.
Also, be sure to watch out for long lines and angry parents with rising credit card debts due to their little daughters who tell them to buy a "Cute outfit" for them, when they then get into fights with other parent because they are sick of waiting in sometimes very long lines!
Be aware not to wear your clothes sporting "Hollister" to the state in which it represents CALIFORNIA!!
You might just get beat up...

Hollister is a preppy southern california looking store that sells every color clothing except black. Sells, ripped/vintage clothing, and is owned by Abercrombie, but targeted at people between the ages of 15-21.

Hollister is a stylish clothing store based on west-coast surfer style. It is NOT based off of the town Hollister, which is far away from any beaches and is known more for paintball and off-roading/motocross etc. Hollister is based off of Hollister Ranch, which is a surf community somewhere in Southern California. People should understand this better, Hollister shirts say So-Cal on them often, Hollister the city is in Northern California.
Hollister is owned by Abercrombie and Fitch. Their clothes are similar in style, but are more reasonably priced. There are people who shop at Hollister but not Abercrombie and Fitch, because Hollister is perhaps even as low as the American Eagle price range.
Their clothes include pre-ripped pants, and faded clothing etc. all are meant to have a worn feeling. There is a reason to buy pre-ripped clothing; designer clothing is meant to stay the way it is forever. Generally speaking, pre-ripped clothing does not become much worse over time, whereas ripping your own clothing you will gradually expand the rips over time. In addition, designer fabric tends to be much more comfortable, cheap Levi's and other brands tend to feel cardboard-ish.
People tend to rag on Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch because their clothes are higher priced than normal. In my opinion, I felt the same way but I find their clothing to fit much better and feel more comfortable, I would wear one pair of their jeans a couple days in a row if they didn't get dirty. They do sell jeans that are minimally ripped as well. It may seem overpriced, but you can have two pairs of jeans and that will be enough for daily use.

A clothing store that is owned by Abercrombie & Fitch. It has a "West Coast feel" and is actually a great store. It targets teenagers and recruits good looking college kids to work.
I do understand some hate it and think its a cult, but I worked at one and the people are amazing and it actually is exactly what the haters say. An overpriced place to buy torn jeans, but hey here's a thought...why not buy the non torn jeans for $30 and do it yourself like most of the workers do at the store.
The clothing is of better quality than most the of the stores out there and is cheaper than A&F.
AND its not only for white people, I am hispanic and worked there and we had blacks and asains there too!

a Clothing and accessory store you can find at most malls/large cities where it's so dark all you can see is the clothes, and it's so loud all you can hear is.........nothing unless you yell.
