Hateful old dick; the kind of Victor Meldrew type that has nothing better to do with their retirement than to cause misery to all around them. Generally found policing their boundaries, making unfounded accusations and racist slurs toward ethnic minorities in their neighbourhood and raising petitions over trifling matters.

Hod Carrier

Some one providing support to a more skilled worker.

The term comes from the construction industry. A hod is a three sided box to carry materials to a mason. The less skilled worker carries material in a hod to the skilled worker.

Expanded to other jobs and professions "hod carrier" would be helping a more silled person complete a task.

I did not have an important role in the trial. I was a hod carrier for the trial attorneys.
