fauxspiration

A quote, colloquialism, or aphorism that at first seems inspiring or informative, but actually has no substance and is used just to portray a certain image or create an impression. Examples include, "Live, Laugh, Love", "Dance like nobody's watching" or any test over a black and white image most commonly found on Tumblr, Instagram or the Facebook pages of girls and women aged 14-28.

After her boyfriend broke up wit her, Brittany posted fauxspirational quotes on her Instagram so everyone would think she was happy and moving on when in fact she spent every night holding his picture and crying.

1. What appears to be an animal killed by being struck by a motor vehicle but is not. Usually a piece a rag, wad of paper, or clump of mud.

2. Slang One that has apparently failed or been defeated but is still worthy of consideration

Maura said, "Look out for the dead animal in the road", I replied it's only "fauxkill".
