Aslıhan

Aslıhans are mammals which are primarily found on the Anatolian peninsula in Western Asia and on the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. Their appearance is purely human, still scientists argue that they are at least partly related to members of the species “felis” (cat). Ben et al. 2019 observed several behavioral patterns which support this hypothesis. They found Aslıhans biting and licking members of their group in play. Furthermore, they observed that Aslıhans preferred to sleep in the laps of humans. However, the most convincing argument in support of the half-cat theory is Aslıhans behavior towards members of the other species. When a cat is present, Aslıhans will almost certainly touch it. Ben et al. reported several cases where Aslıhans have been observed to touch a cat when it was reluctant, even attacking the Aslıhan. They conclude that the desire to touch cats is a subconscious pattern that cannot be actively controlled. Possibly, this an evolutionary mechanism to ensure that cat-ness is transferred to the Aslıhan in regular intervals. Without it, Aslıhans would turn into humans – and who likes humans anyway?
