Now these are the kinds of people you see
all the time on the interweb! Commonly, when someone reaches a certain level of obsession for said character, they might start referring to them as their "wife" or "husband". Or, well, "malewife". Or.. god forbid... "waifu"...
This is pretty common in the yumeship (another word for people who ship themselves with a character) community, but sometimes these people can be a bit.. strange.
Now no hate to them
of course, but they will probably find your IP address if you talk shit about their "wife". They also likely have some sort of shrine or
obsessive merch collection of said character, which is totally not creepy or weird in any way. If you see a figure in a jar, don't walk, run.
