Like ghosted but by a friend (casper is a friendly ghost!). So not a tinder match you wanted to bang but a friend you know and have known for awhile cutting off all communication.

I asked a friend to a picnic to have a beer and laugh at the good old days since we haven’t seen each other for 10 years. I tried to confirm the date(I was snarky) and poof she caspered my ass!

Caspering

Caspering is the friendly version of ghosting a person, referring to „Casper the friendly ghost“ While in ghosting a person would not respond to your messages or calls while still watching your stories, getting caspered instead means, the person will still frequently send you messages, like your posts and stories, but will be „too busy“ or too occupied to continue the level of contact you had. Caspers expect you to give up on reaching out to them, by simply fading out the contact. They don’t want to have the bad word of mouth that they’ve ghosted you or try to avoid having to tell you they’ve lost interest in your relationship/friendship
