A nickname given to a particularly promiscuous Australian male who is known for his habit of arriving at a woman's house around dinner time, getting fed, having sex then immediately leaving. A wombat (the marsupial) eats, roots and leaves. Root directly replaces fuck in Australian slang.

When greeting said serial rooter, “G’day Wombat”.

Amongst friends, “Bruce is a real fuckin Wombat”.
